부사는 안 써서 문제가 되는 경우가 많다.

일반적으로 부사가 필수요소가 아니다보니 없어도 의미가 전달이 되기 때문에 보통 잘 안 쓴다.

근데 부사를 쓰면 의미가 풍부해지고 자연스러워짐.

부사를 쓸 수 있는 문장에서는 언제나 쓰는 게 더 낫다고까지 생각함.

1. definitely 확실히

It's definitely better

2. surprisingly 의외로

 

3. carefully 조심스럽게, 꼼꼼히, 자세히, 잘

I read through the instructions very carefully many times.

I carefully asked him how old he was.

I carefully asked her if she was married.

 

4. thoroughly 철저히

He thoroughly went over every single detail during the meeting.

During the meeting, the boss went through every single detail very thoroughly.

 

5. noticeably 티나게, 눈에 띄게

Her condition got noticeably better over time.

This is noticeably thinner and lighter than the last version.

 

6. understandably 그럴만하게

My sister was in a car accident a few days ago. It's nothing serious. No one got hurt. But she's only been driving for a few months, so she's understandably still quite shaken up by it.

* If you are shaken up by something, it means that you are still in shock.

 

7. arguably '~라고 볼 수 있다' 라는 느낌. 누구는 동의할 거고 누구는 동의하지 않을 것에 대해 얘기할 때 쓰는 부사

She was arguably one of the best singers in the 1980s.

Parellel parking is arguably the hardest driving skill to master.

* arguably는 일반적으로 사람들이 알고 의견을 가질 수 있는 것에 대해서만 씀. 나만 아는 애착인형 같은 것에다가 쓸 순 없음.

 

8. patiently 참을성 있게 / anxiously 초조한 마음으로 / eagerly 간절히

We're patiently/anxiously/eagerly waiting for some good news.
